Ukraine Destroys Russian MiG-29 and Ka-27, Strikes Military Sites in Donetsk and Bryansk

Ukrainian forces struck several Russian military targets in occupied Donetsk region and Russia’s Bryansk region on September 1 and overnight into September 2, while confirming the destruction of a Russian MiG-29 fighter jet and a Ka-27 helicopter in earlier operations, Ukraine’s General Staff reported.

In Russian-occupied Volodymyrivka in Donetsk region, Ukrainian forces hit a Russian ammunition depot. A logistics and materiel storage facility belonging to a Russian unit was also hit in Russian-occupied Ocheretyne.
Across the border in Russia’s Bryansk region, Ukrainian forces targeted an area near Rechitsa where Russian weapons and military equipment were concentrated.
The extent of the damage from the latest strikes is still being assessed, according to the General Staff.

Separately, Ukraine’s military said an analysis of additional data confirmed that a Russian Ka-27 helicopter was destroyed near the Yeysk airfield in Russia’s Krasnodar region on August 30.
The General Staff also confirmed the destruction of a Russian MiG-29 fighter jet near the Millerovo airfield in Russia’s Rostov region on August 27.
The confirmed losses come amid continued Ukrainian efforts to target Russian personnel and military assets across the battlefield. Ukrainian drone operators from the Signum Battalion struck more than 700 Russian personnel during the three summer months, while also targeting Russian vehicles, logistics assets, and electronic warfare systems, the unit reported on September 1.
