According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian forces also struck a railway bridge spanning the Siverskyi Donets River near Stanytsia Luhanska, which Russian forces use to transport personnel, weapons, ammunition, and military supplies to the front. The General Staff added that the extent of the helicopter’s damage is still being assessed.

The General Staff reported additional strikes against two Russian command posts near Shakhtarske in Ukraine’s Donetsk region, a drone storage site in Tytarivka, a repair facility in Starobilsk, and a fuel and lubricants depot in temporarily occupied Luhansk. The military said the results of those operations are still being verified.

The overnight campaign also included strikes deep inside Russia. According to the General Staff, Ukrainian forces hit the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal in Russia’s Leningrad region, where a fire was reported after the attack, as well as the Kronstadt naval base, a key facility of Russia’s Baltic Fleet.

The Ukrainian military said the operations were aimed at reducing Russia’s military and economic capabilities and disrupting logistics supporting Russian forces.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had earlier confirmed successful Ukrainian strikes near St. Petersburg, including the attacks on the oil terminal and Kronstadt. The General Staff did not specify the type of helicopter struck over the Sea of Azov or provide information about its crew. The military said damage assessment is ongoing.

Earlier, a pro-Russian Telegram channel reported that Russia had lost another Ka-52 “Alligator” attack helicopter, with its post suggesting that one of the pilots was killed. The circumstances of the loss were not disclosed.
