Ukraine Plans Massive Daily Barrage of 600 Drones and Missiles Against Russia, Zelenskyy Said

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Ukraine plans to significantly boost its domestic manufacturing of drones and missiles to meet or exceed the volume of strikes currently being launched by Russia.

Speaking at a press conference with leaders from Northern Europe and the Baltic states on June 9, the Ukrainian President emphasized that the goal is to reach a production capacity of 600 drones and missiles daily.

According to the president, this scale of production is essential to ensure that Russian forces experience the impact of the war in the same way that Ukrainian citizens currently do. Zelenskyy noted that while Ukraine is already responding to Russian strikes, the country is currently limited by a lack of equipment compared to the sheer volume utilized by its adversary.

The strategy comes amid a broader push to modernize Ukraine's military capabilities. Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi recently approved a development concept for the country’s Rocket Forces and Artillery, which includes the creation of missiles capable of reaching targets up to 2,000 kilometers away.

Additionally, Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov has confirmed the development of a new homegrown aerial bomb, the "Vyrivnyuvach," which features a 250-kilogram warhead designed for deep-strike operations.

"Russia understands that if there will be 600 drones and missiles, then they will feel this war the way we feel it," Zelenskyy said.

These efforts are supported by ongoing operations from Ukraine's intelligence agencies, which have been active in disrupting Russian logistics. Operators have focused on blocking supply lines between Crimea and occupied territories in the Donetsk region, targeting trains carrying fuel, ammunition, and armored vehicles.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi announced on June 9 that he had approved the Concept for the Development of the Rocket Forces and Artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine through 2030.

According to Syrskyi, the concept outlined plans to reduce dependence on foreign-supplied weapons and ammunition while expanding the role of the domestic defense industry.

The strategy also prioritized the development of a modern artillery reconnaissance network and aimed to complete the serial production of domestically produced ballistic and cruise missiles to create a long-range strike architecture capable of engaging targets at distances of up to 2,000 kilometers.
