The oil depot is a key logistics facility in Lukoil’s fuel distribution network across southern Russia. It supports retail and small wholesale sales of petroleum products.
The site contains 17 large storage tanks, four medium-sized tanks, and 21 smaller fuel containers.
The attack adds to Ukraine’s continuing campaign against Russian fuel infrastructure, targeting depots, refineries, terminals, and logistics hubs that support both Russia’s economy and its military operations.

Russian gasoline production has dropped to around 65% of seasonal demand after repeated Ukrainian drone strikes forced several of the country’s largest oil refineries to suspend operations.
Gasoline production is currently falling short of seasonal demand by between 40,000 and 45,000 metric tons per day—approximately 35%. By comparison, the daily deficit in June stood at about 25%.
In addition, the Russian government imposed a ban on diesel fuel exports starting July 8 to address a domestic fuel crisis triggered by Ukrainian drone strikes on major oil refineries.
