Ukraine’s Drones Pass 1 Million Verified Hits in 2026, Drive 90% of Battlefield Strikes

Ukrainian unmanned systems units have recorded more than one million verified hits since the beginning of 2026, with approximately 193,500 Russian troops killed or wounded, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry reported on July 17.
Drones now account for roughly 90% of all confirmed hits on Russian forces across the battlefield, making unmanned systems Ukraine’s primary tool for destroying personnel, equipment, and military infrastructure.

June was the most productive month for Ukrainian drone operators, with more than 200,000 verified hits. Overall effectiveness has risen sharply since January, with the monthly number of confirmed targets nearly doubling.
Ukrainian units recorded approximately 105,800 verified hits in January and 105,300 in February. That figure climbed to around 157,200 in March, 160,729 in April, and 181,128 in May before reaching 200,218 in June. Another roughly 90,000 targets were hit during the first half of July.

The targets extended far beyond Russian personnel. Ukrainian drones struck air defense systems, electronic warfare and reconnaissance equipment, enemy UAVs, vehicles, motorcycles, armored vehicles, UGVs, command posts, and other high-value military assets.
Ukrainian service members receive ePoints for every verified hit. Those points can be exchanged through the Brave1 Market platform for drones, UGVs, and electronic warfare equipment.
Beyond rewarding effective units, the system helps Ukraine identify which technologies, tactics, and formations deliver the strongest battlefield results. The most successful solutions can then be produced and deployed more widely across the Defense Forces.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces reported that they struck or destroyed 1,559 unique Russian targets over 24 hours, including 15 Russian vessels.
