Ukraine’s Ground Robots Complete 112,000 Logistics and Evacuation Missions in 2026

The number of missions carried out by Ukrainian unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) has increased 3.3-fold since the beginning of 2026, with the systems completing more than 25,000 logistics and evacuation missions on the front line in August alone.
This was reported by Ukrainian Ministry of Defense on September 7, citing data from Ukraine’s DELTA battlefield management system.

As of early September, DELTA had recorded approximately 112,000 logistics and evacuation missions involving ground robotic systems since the beginning of the year.
The number of missions has grown steadily each month, rising from 7,511 in January to 7,960 in February and 9,072 in March. The figure increased further to 11,028 in April, 14,059 in May, 16,664 in June, and 19,940 in July, before reaching 25,143 in August.
As a result, the number of logistics and evacuation missions recorded in August was 3.3 times higher than in January.
The growing use of UGVs extends beyond logistics and evacuation missions, with Ukrainian forces also deploying armed platforms in combat operations. Ukraine’s Droid TW-12.7 UGV, for instance, withstood five FPV drone strikes while carrying out a combat mission before a sixth hit disabled the platform, DevDroid said in a press release shared with UNITED24 Media on September 2.
The system was deployed by the fire support company of Ukraine’s 74th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion during a remotely operated mission targeting a concentration of Russian troops.
As the Droid TW-12.7 approached the position, two FPV drones struck the vehicle almost simultaneously. One of the hits damaged its aiming module, but the platform remained operational and continued its mission.
Meanwhile, Ukraine is continuing to expand its fleet of unmanned ground systems as their role on the battlefield grows. The country plans to manufacture at least 50,000 combat and logistics UGVs this year to support infantry units and address personnel shortages along the front line.
