The operation was conducted with assistance from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, according to the SBU.

Investigators stated that the suspect used the Telegram channel to encourage attacks against Ukrainian and foreign law enforcement officers using improvised explosive devices.

The SBU reported that he also shared video instructions showing how to make explosives and described ways to use electric detonators and other components intended to increase the destructive effect of improvised bombs.

According to investigators, the suspect had set up a laboratory inside his apartment where he demonstrated the synthesis of chemical substances used to prepare homemade explosive devices.

SBU officers detained the suspect at his residence. Searches of the property uncovered explosive substances, laboratory equipment, computer equipment allegedly linked to the administration of the Telegram channel, anti-personnel mines, detonating equipment, and ammunition.

The suspect was notified of charges under Ukrainian law covering public calls to commit terrorist acts and illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosives.

He remains in custody and faces imprisonment. The investigation is continuing to establish the full circumstances of the case and identify possible accomplices.

The SBU also reported that the Telegram channel had been blocked.

Ukraine’s Security Service had previously detained an alleged FSB operative in Kyiv who was preparing to assassinate a Russian opposition figure fighting for Ukraine. Investigators stated that she had received weapons training from the FSB and collected a pistol from a concealed cache before being arrested near the intended target’s workplace.
