The exercise is taking place in Estonia from June 8 to June 20, with activities conducted in Harju and Lääne-Viru counties. It is organized by the Estonian Defence Forces, the NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine, and Estonia’s Health Board.
Vigorous Warrior is NATO’s largest recurring medical exercise and is designed to test cooperation between military and civilian healthcare systems during large-scale crisis scenarios. Participants train in battlefield medical care, casualty stabilization, and mass evacuation procedures under operational conditions.
Images released by the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy show the An-124 unloading equipment used to support the exercise. The aircraft, operated by Ukraine’s Antonov Airlines, is among the world’s largest cargo planes and is frequently employed for outsized and strategic airlift missions.

The confirmed delivery follows reports earlier this month that an Antonov An-124, registration UR-82029, landed in Budapest after arriving from Leipzig.
Developed by Ukraine’s Antonov Design Bureau, the An-124 Ruslan is capable of carrying more than 120 metric tons of cargo and remains one of the largest serially produced transport aircraft in operation. Its payload capacity allows it to transport military equipment, humanitarian aid, and oversized industrial cargo that cannot be carried by conventional freighters.
Earlier, a Ukrainian Antonov An-124 transported France’s CSO-3 military reconnaissance satellite to French Guiana ahead of its launch aboard an Ariane 6 rocket. The satellite, part of France’s €900 million CSO program, is designed to enhance European intelligence and surveillance capabilities.
