Ukrainian Drones Hit NS-Oil Refinery and Fuel Depot Deep Inside Russia, Massive Fire Erupts

Strike drones attacked the NS-Oil refinery complex in Russia’s Ulyanovsk region, igniting a large fire visible across the surrounding town, according to OSINT community Exilenova+ on July 23.

The attack targeted facilities in Novospasskoye, where footage from local residents showed storage tanks burning and thick black smoke rising above the industrial site.

Regional Governor Alexey Russkikh later confirmed a drone attack on what he described as a fuel and energy facility.

Exilenova+ reported that the strike may have hit both the NS-Oil refinery and a nearby fuel storage site, including a liquefied gas base operated by the company.

“In Novospasskoye, Ulyanovsk Oblast, not only was the NS OIL refinery reportedly targeted, but an oil depot was also reportedly attacked,” Exilenova+ said.

The precise extent of the damage has not yet been independently confirmed.

NS-Oil is part of Russia’s PromInvest industrial holding and produces gasoline, diesel fuel, and fuel oil.

The refinery has an annual production capacity of up to 600,000 metric tons, making it a significant regional fuel-processing facility.
