Syrskyi stated, “Despite the constant pressure of the enemy, Ukrainian warriors continue to perform tasks on the territory of Russia — our presence in the Kursk region remains.”
He characterized the situation along the entire line of contact as difficult, noting that Russian forces have increased their offensive actions and are currently regrouping their units.
The Pokrovsk sector remains the most active area of the front. Syrskyi reported that Russia has concentrated approximately 106,000 personnel in this specific direction. High levels of activity were also noted in the Ocheretyne, Oleksandrivka, Kupiansk, Kostiantynivka sectors, as well as along several sections of the state border with Russia.
According to the Commander-in-Chief, Ukrainian units are working to stop Russian advances and maintain their defensive lines.

Syrskyi said, “Units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine disrupt the plans of the Russian Federation, steadfastly hold the lines and, under favorable conditions, conduct their own active actions.”
Data provided by the military leadership shows that combined fire support units carried out more than 64,900 missions over the past month. Artillery units struck 8,500 targets during this period, while missile units conducted 74 strikes.
Additionally, specialized Deep Strike assets were used to hit 84 targets located deep within Russian territory throughout April.
On August 6, 2024, in less than three weeks, Ukrainian forces captured a vast stretch of Russian territory, forced Moscow to redeploy elite units from across the front, and derailed Russia’s entire summer campaign.
Oleksandr Syrskyi explained that the situation at the beginning of 2024 was extremely difficult, as the enemy replenished its losses and launched active offensives, which required a radical decision to change the course of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
