Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo Missiles Strike Sanctioned Russian Defense Enterprise in Volgograd

Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck the Volgogradpromproekt enterprise in Russia’s Volgograd overnight on September 11 using FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles, according to the compamy’s statement.

The missiles hit the targeted facility, triggering a fire at the site.

Volgogradpromproekt is under US sanctions over its involvement with Russia’s military-industrial complex. The company produces ferrocene-based combustion catalysts and develops technologies for manufacturing chemical substances.

The strike came amid reports of explosions and fires in Volgograd overnight, as the city was targeted in a missile and drone attack.

Volgograd region Governor Andrei Bocharov said that missile debris fell on the grounds of an industrial facility in the southern part of the city following the attack. He also reported damage to an apartment building in Volgograd’s Krasnoarmeysky district.

The attack on Volgograd coincided with Ukrainian strikes on other targets inside Russia. Overnight on September 11, Ukrainian strike drones also targeted Saratov, sparking fires at a local oil refinery and an Ozon logistics center, according to the Exilenova+ OSINT project.

Footage and photographs shared by local residents showed large fires and thick columns of smoke rising from both sites following the attack.

Ukrainian defense manufacturer Fire Point confirmed that its FP-1 long-range drones carried out the strike on the Ozon facility.
