Ukrainian forces regained control of the village of Odradne in the Kharkiv region after a coordinated assault involving infantry, drone operators, and artillery units that reportedly cleared Russian positions from nearly 22 square kilometers of territory.

Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated the village of Odradne in the Dvorichna district of the Kharkiv region following a coordinated assault operation involving mechanized infantry, drone units, and artillery support, according to a statement published by the 129th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade on May 15.

Ukrainian troops conducted assault operations that forced Russian troops from forest belts, fortified defensive lines, and strongpoints around the settlement.

The brigade said assault teams worked in close coordination with UAV operators and artillery units, allowing Ukrainian forces to systematically identify and destroy Russian manpower, firing positions, and shelters.

The liberation of Odradne was also confirmed by the 16th Army Corps, which stated that Ukrainian offensive operations in the area resulted in the recovery of approximately 22 square kilometers of territory.

According to the military, Russian forces suffered significant losses during the fighting, with 56 Russian troops reportedly eliminated during the operation.

In the south, Ukrainian forces launched localized counterattacks near the village of Charivne in the Zaporizhzhia region, while Russian troops have failed to make any recent advances along the southern front.

Earlier, reports emerged that for the first time in the last three years of full-scale war, the battlefield initiative appears to be shifting in Ukraine’s favor.

After surviving months of relentless Russian missile and drone attacks on its cities and energy infrastructure, Ukraine is now increasingly imposing costs on Russia across multiple fronts—from battlefield attrition to deep strikes hundreds and even thousands of kilometers behind the front line.
