Preparations are underway for the next meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format, as partner nations prepare to discuss continued military support for Ukraine. The group last convened on September 8, 2026, according to Suspilne News.

British Defense Secretary Wes Streeting stated that partner nations need to increase their commitments to support Ukraine during the winter period.

"It is hugely important that allies step up now to support Ukraine through this difficult winter, and it's really important that the Kremlin gets that message too, and that Putin hears that directly," the minister said.

Streeting noted that Russian leadership is not receiving accurate reports regarding the progress of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

He emphasized that the upcoming meeting aims to send a clear message regarding the continued backing from partner nations. "The resolve of Ukraine's allies to stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes," Streeting said, Suspilne News reported.

On September 8, 2026, the United Kingdom committed £100 million ($135.1 million) to a winter air defense package for Ukraine, including Patriot missiles, interceptors, large-caliber artillery ammunition, and drones.

In addition, the UK delivered over 25,000 drones out of a planned 120,000, surpassed the milestone of one million artillery rounds provided, and co-chaired the 36th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group alongside Germany to coordinate continued military support.
