Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that Kyiv received information from Washington regarding Moscow’s support for holding technical-level trilateral negotiations between Ukrainian, American, and Russian representatives aimed at ending Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, UNIAN reports.

US officials have urged launching these working-level discussions as soon as possible, and Ukraine supports the proposal, Zelenskyy said. No exact dates have been set, but the meeting is expected no later than early November.

Earlier, Russian officials indicated willingness to participate in a trilateral negotiation framework involving Washington and Kyiv at the technical level.

Moscow’s stance followed diplomatic exchanges regarding potential channels to discuss ceasefires, prisoner returns, and humanitarian initiatives.

US President Donald Trump is seeking to leverage the upcoming G20 summit scheduled for December 14–15 in Miami, Florida, to secure a formal peace agreement to end the war.

White House strategists aim to use the technical trilateral talks to formulate key provisions prior to the December meeting.

In addition to the trilateral track, Trump has said he is open to a summit with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, though he said the war in Ukraine would not be its main focus.
