Ukrainian defense technology company TAF Industries and Poland’s state-owned defense group Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) have officially signed a memorandum of intent to localize the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and counter-drone systems in Poland.

The agreement was finalized on June 25 during the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk. The strategic partnership aims to scale manufacturing capabilities, secure the supply of critical parts, and establish deep localization across Poland by leveraging the extensive industrial infrastructure of the Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa Capital Group under the "Build with Ukraine" framework.

The signing ceremony was attended by high-ranking government officials from both Poland and Ukraine, alongside international partners and global leaders from the defense industry.

Oleksandr Yakovenko, founder of TAF Industries, signed the document on behalf of the Ukrainian firm, while President Adam Leszkiewicz and Vice President Jan Grabowski represented Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa.

The collaborative initiative establishes a secure framework for joint research and development projects, co-funding mechanisms, protected technical data exchanges, and real-world field testing to ensure all localized platforms meet strict NATO operational standards.

“Signing this agreement in Gdańsk alongside our allies and neighbors carries profound symbolic meaning,” said Oleksandr Yakovenko.

“Poland and Ukraine face identical security threats and share historical lessons regarding unjustified aggression. By combining TAF Industries' real-world combat data and rapid product iteration with PGZ's massive industrial capacity, we are creating a resilient European manufacturing hub for UAV and counter-drone technologies that will directly protect our shared borders and allies,” he added.

“Ukraine has accumulated unique experience in air defense and countering aerial attacks, so we are interested in cooperating to gain experience in the field of drones,” said Adam Leszkiewicz, President of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa. “Cooperation with TAF Industries allows Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa to integrate advanced, field-proven technological solutions into our production ecosystem.”

He added that the project will boost domestic industrial potential for modern weapons, expand production, improve skills, and build a more resilient defense system for both Ukraine and Poland.

On June 25, 2026, a Polish-made Striker deep-strike unmanned aerial vehicle with a reported range of up to 1,000 kilometers was successfully tested near Kyiv by its manufacturer, FlyFocus.

The system underwent trials at a training ground outside the Ukrainian capital and received positive feedback from Ukrainian operators, demonstrating its capability to carry high-explosive fragmentation or thermobaric payloads using advanced encrypted communications and satellite guidance.
