The Ukrainian Plastun ground robotic complex has undergone an upgrade, doubling its maximum payload capacity to 100 kg.

Developers from Trident Tech reported the technical improvements to Militarnyi on August 18. The 35 kg platform, which has been in service with defense forces since 2023, was previously designed to carry loads of up to 50 kg.

Beyond increasing the payload mass, engineers at PAWELL Battery replaced the standard lithium-ion battery cells with new solid-state ones.

This battery update increased the specific capacity by approximately 60%, quadrupling the range of the ground robotic complex from 25 km to 100 km.

The updated Plastun ground robotic platform features a full 4x4 drive chassis equipped with four 350 W gear motors and custom tubeless polyurethane tires, allowing it to climb inclines up to 45 degrees and operate in snow, sand, mud, and treelines.

The system can be configured to remotely lay mines using two TM-62/72 mines or a barrier system of four mines, digital communication modules with protection against electronic warfare, relay equipment, and a launch platform for two FPV drones.

Furthermore, developers have made provisions to integrate mobile electronic warfare systems, Starlink, 360-degree cameras, thermal imagers, and a fiber-optic video transmission channel.

On June 8, 2026, the Third Army Corps of Ukraine reported conducting over 18,000 ground-robot missions during its first year of operations, evacuating more than 600 wounded soldiers and transporting 4,500 tons of cargo.

Presented by corps officers at a press conference marking one year since the unit deployed on the Lyman–Borova front, these figures underscored the heavy reliance on unmanned ground vehicles to move supplies and extract personnel under intense enemy drone coverage.
