WINFLY Has Unveiled Its Spider Interceptor With a Net Launcher Capable of Returning After Interception

Ukrainian defense technology company WINFLY has introduced the WINFLY Spider, a reusable interceptor unmanned aerial vehicle designed to neutralize aerial targets with a net and return safely to its launch location.

Built on the WINFLY 10 Hunter base platform, the system reaches top speeds of 160 km/h and operates at altitudes up to 5,000 meters, as reported by Militarnyi on August 11.

It covers a range exceeding 18 km with a flight endurance of up to 25 minutes, deploys in under 3 minutes, and detects or identifies targets at distances up to 500 meters.

The system is engineered to counter airplane-type unmanned aerial vehicles, Mavic quadcopters, first-person view (FPV) drones, and fiber-optic controlled drones.

To accommodate various operational conditions, the manufacturer produces both daylight and night vision variants of the interceptor.

The interceptor relies on the integrated KARAKURT-K2 net launcher, a 210-gram module constructed from high-strength aluminum.

Connected via a USB Type-C port, the launcher functions in temperatures ranging from −20°C to +50°C. It offers an effective firing range of 15 meters, deploying a 3-by-3-meter net at a distance of 3 to 5 meters from the target.

Each net deployment costs 1,100 UAH ($26), while the primary drone platform remains undamaged and fully reusable for subsequent missions.

On August 10, Ukrainian defense firm F-Drones unveiled an upgraded anti-drone interceptor, the LITAVR+, designed to counter jet-powered Shahed attack drones at speeds exceeding 400 km/h.

Company CEO Stanislav Khutor announced the system, which featured modified in-house engines, proprietary flight controllers, and specialized electronics while retaining the original form factor.

The UAV incorporated GPS-free navigation, terminal optical guidance, and a dual-camera imaging system alongside a 500-gram warhead. After finishing factory testing, the LITAVR+ underwent combat trials, where released footage demonstrated it successfully engaging and neutralizing a hostile jet-powered Shahed threat.
