77% of Ukrainians Support 30-Day Ceasefire With Russia, Latest Survey Reveals

A majority of Ukrainians support the joint Ukraine-US proposal for a 30-day temporary ceasefire, according to a new survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) between March 12-22, 2025. The results were published on March 25.
According to the survey, 77% of respondents view the proposal positively, with support ranging from 72% in the East of Ukraine to 85% in the West.
Among those who support the initiative, 47% believe negotiations will expose Russia’s unwillingness to seek peace or its violations of agreements.
Another 18% see the ceasefire as an opportunity to end the war on terms acceptable to Ukraine, while 12% view it as a step toward unblocking military aid.
However, 17% of respondents oppose the proposal. Of those, 8% fear it will weaken Ukraine, 7% see it as an act of desperation by the government due to the frontline situation, and 2% interpret it as the beginning of capitulation.
Despite support for a temporary truce, Ukrainians overwhelmingly reject Russia’s demands for halting mobilization, stopping Western arms shipments, and ceasing intelligence-sharing with Ukraine.
