"All Their Signals Point to That": Zelenskyy Slams Russia for Undermining US-Backed Peace Talks

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia continues to signal its intent to prolong the war against Ukraine rather than engage in peace talks proposed by the United States.
“Two weeks ago in Washington, it was stated that by this time the Russians should be ready for real negotiations – a meeting at the leaders’ level. Ukraine is definitely ready for this. But the only thing Russia is doing is investing further in war. All their signals point to that,” Zelenskyy noted in his evening address on August 31.
The president suggested that during his upcoming visit to China, Russian leader Vladimir Putin will again attempt to evade responsibility.

“That is his number one sport. Everyone in the world has declared that there must be a ceasefire. The only one who wants this war is Russia,” Zelenskyy said.
He stressed that pressure must continue to be applied directly on Moscow.
“We expect that no one will tolerate the prolongation of this war. We count on a strong stance from the United States, Europe, and the G20 countries. This war brings nothing but destabilization to global processes. Russia must pay for this. And it will,” President emphasized.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that seven nations have officially joined the Prioritized Ukraine Resource List program—a coordinated funding mechanism designed to streamline international assistance for Ukraine’s most urgent wartime needs.
