Ukraine Secures $2B as Seven Nations Join PURL Wartime Support, Zelenskyy Confirms

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that seven countries had officially joined Ukraine’s PURL program (Prioritized Ukraine Resource List), a coordinated funding mechanism created to streamline international support for Ukraine’s most urgent wartime needs, during his evening address on August 31.
According to Zelenskyy, contributions through the initiative have already exceeded $2 billion USD, with Kyiv now urging partners to maintain a steady pace of donations. “I hope that under the program, not less than one billion dollars will be accumulated monthly,” he said in his remarks.
The seven countries that have joined Ukraine’s PURL initiative are the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, Belgium, and Latvia.
The PURL system was launched earlier this year to provide a transparent framework for Ukraine’s partners to channel assistance into clearly defined defense and humanitarian priorities.

Each month, the Ukrainian government publishes an updated list of critical requirements, ranging from air defense interceptors and artillery ammunition to energy infrastructure repairs and humanitarian support for displaced civilians.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the scale of the war effort required both consistency and predictability in funding. “The only party interested in continuing this war is Russia. Therefore, we will keep pressing and will not allow the world to lose focus,” he added, urging allies to match resources to Ukraine’s monthly operational needs.
Earlier, it was reported that in just two days, NATO member countries—including Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden—delivered more than $1 billion to purchase US weaponry for Ukraine, demonstrating effective coordination through the NSATU initiative.
