The post was published on Instagram and created in collaboration with British photographer Giles Duley. Duley has been documenting the effects of the war and the daily lives of Ukrainians during the hostilities.

“We are thinking of the families who have survived this brutal war for over four years. We have both spent time in Ukraine. Giles Duley’s photographs capture the spirit of its people—their warmth, bravery, and resilience despite everything,” Jolie stated.

She also noted that the civilian population remains insufficiently protected.

“Drones reach homes and residential areas. Infrastructure, schools, and hospitals are regularly hit. Families are killed or forced to flee their homes,” the post reads.

According to the data provided, 10.8 million people in Ukraine currently require humanitarian aid. Roughly 5.9 million people have been forced to leave the country, and about 5 million are living in occupied territories.

The report also mentions more than 2,500 attacks on the healthcare system and 1,389 damaged or destroyed hospitals.

The data indicates that in 2025 alone, 2,248 civilians were killed and another 12,493 were injured. Furthermore, attacks on energy infrastructure during the winter left many communities without electricity while temperatures dropped to –25°C.

Earlier, American actress Angelina Jolie visited the city of Kherson as part of a humanitarian mission to support civilians impacted by the full-scale invasion.

During her trip, she toured medical facilities, including a maternity and a children’s hospital, while wearing a bulletproof vest with Ukrainian insignia.

To honor her commitment, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration presented her with a commemorative “Kherson” coin.
