As Zelenskyy Addresses World Leaders in Davos, Russia Bombards His Hometown Kryvyi Rih

On January 22, explosions have rocked the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih throughout the day, with a ballistic missile strike reported at 11:00 a.m. local time, according to Oleksandr Hanja, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.
The missile strike injured at least 12 people, including a one-and-a-half-year-old boy and two girls aged eight and ten, Hanja confirmed. Emergency services and local authorities have deployed assistance teams on the ground.
“A local aid headquarters has been set up to support affected residents. People whose homes were damaged in the attack are being provided with materials for emergency repairs,” Hanja said in a statement.
The strike severely damaged a two-story residential building.
Radio Svoboda has released footage showing the aftermath of the missile strike on the city.
As of 8:00 p.m. local time, Kryvyi Rih is under renewed attack by Shahed-type drones, with additional explosions reported.
“A Shahed drone attack is ongoing in Kryvyi Rih. It’s loud. Please do not leave shelters,” wrote Yevhen Sytnychenko, head of the Kryvyi Rih District Administration, on Telegram.

On the same day, Russian forces launched FPV drone attacks on Kozacha Lopania and Ruska Lozova, Kharkiv region, resulting in two local deaths and one injury.
