Be Sick or Be Dead: Russian Troops Exposed for Faking Illness to Avoid the Frontline

The organization reports that there has been a sharp rise in soldiers pretending to be ill and seeking medical treatment to escape fighting.

Members of the 205th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, currently stationed in the Kherson area, report a significant increase in soldiers claiming to be unwell and heading to hospitals to avoid deployment.
“Military personnel are increasingly expressing reluctance to go to the front line, actively seeking ways to dodge it,” said ATESH.
This trend has escalated alongside rumors about the potential redeployment of forces to the Pokrovsk direction.

Medical staff have observed that the number of soldiers seeking treatment is far above normal levels.
Soldiers are reportedly visiting the hospital in groups, using old injuries or fabricated symptoms as reasons to avoid combat rotations, as shared by members of the partisan movement.
Earlier, it was reported that Russian military commanders are reportedly hiding the true extent of casualties near Pokrovsk by categorizing deceased soldiers as deserters.
The ATESH movement stated that operatives within Russia’s 30th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade have noticed a recurring practice: following significant losses, commanders deliberately label fallen soldiers as “those who voluntarily left their unit.” This tactic helps conceal the real number of deaths and prevents direct interactions with the soldiers' families.
