Czech Minister of Defense, Jana Černochová, stated that the country’s exports of military equipment to Ukraine increased by at least one-third in 2024.

Speaking at a press conference on February 25, Černochová cited the latest estimates, according to which Czech military exports to Ukraine saw a significant rise last year. While she did not disclose specific figures, she emphasized that a key component of this increase was the Czech-led initiative to procure and deliver ammunition to Ukraine from third countries.

According to Černochová, Czechia supplied Ukraine with 1.5 million units of large-caliber ammunition in 2024, and deliveries are set to continue this year. She underlined that the success of the initiative depends on adequate financial contributions from international partners.

“If we want to continue the ammunition initiative, sufficient funding from donors is essential. So far, Canada, the Netherlands, and Denmark have committed to supporting this effort, and, of course, Czechia is also contributing,” Černochová stated.

She added that partner nations have already pledged several hundred million euros to sustain the initiative.

Earlier, Czech intelligence chief Michal Koudelka warned that if Ukraine is forced into a disadvantageous peace deal, Russia would view it as a victory and prepare to target Central and Eastern Europe within the next decade.
