Massive fires erupted at the port of Temryuk and at an oil refinery in the city of Syzran after drone strikes, Russian outlet Astra reported, with footage of both impacts shared by OSINT communities Exilenova+ and Supernova+ on December 5.

Reports of a drone attack on the Temryuk seaport, located in the Temryuk Bay of the Azov Sea on the Taman Peninsula in Russia’s Krasnodar region, emerged shortly after midnight.

Videos filmed by Russian residents show a large fire breaking out across the facility. Local officials confirmed the strike and the damage to the port’s infrastructure.

“As a result of the UAV attack… elements of port infrastructure in Temryuk were damaged. A fire occurred… 32 specialists and 8 units of equipment were deployed to extinguish it. Emergency services are working at the site,” the regional emergency response headquarters said, according to Ukrainian defense outlet Militarnyi.

Astra reported that a gas terminal at the port was burning. According to Supernova+, the site hit was operated by Mactren-Nafta LLC, a terminal that handles the transfer of liquefied petroleum gas.

In a separate strike hours later, Ukrainian drones targeted the Syzran oil refinery in Russia’s Samara region. Residents reported hearing five to seven explosions after 2 a.m. local time, followed by small arms fire.

The refinery, owned by Rosneft, has been struck multiple times previously. Social media videos showed flames near the facility shortly after the explosions. The plant processes 8.9 million tons of oil per year, producing gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and bitumen.

Located more than 700 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, the refinery supplies fuel to the Samara, Saratov, and Penza regions, as well as airports and Russian military units in the Central and Southern Military Districts.

Earlier, drones struck a high-rise in the Grozny-City business complex that houses several regional government offices, including the Chechen Security Council, just 800 meters from Kadyrov’s residence.
