Estonia will continue supporting Ukraine’s defense efforts next year with more than €100 million, Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur announced during a two-day visit to Kyiv, according to Estonian Ministry of Defense report on September 14.
The funding, equivalent to 0.25% of Estonia’s GDP, will prioritize Ukraine’s most urgent military needs and be delivered largely through Estonian defense industry products.
“Estonia will continue to resolutely support Ukraine in its war of aggression against Russia. Next year, we will also adhere to the principle that 0.25% of our GDP will go to help Ukraine,” Pevkur said.

“We are based on Ukraine’s military needs, and next year, Estonian defense industry companies will also play a key role. In addition, we will continue to train Ukrainians and support IT solutions in the Ukrainian defense sector,” he continued.
During his visit, Pevkur met with Ukrainian frontline soldiers, gaining firsthand insight into battlefield challenges, and stressed the critical role of Western support in sustaining Ukraine’s defense.
He also held discussions with Ukrainian officials, including National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, on recent developments in Ukraine and security along NATO’s eastern flank.
Pevkur participated in the Yalta European Strategy (YES) conference on September 14, joining panels on nuclear weapons and Ukraine’s security guarantees.
He also met with US Special Representative Keith Kellogg, Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk, and US Congressman Jimmy Panetta to discuss coordination of international support for Ukraine.
Previously, it was reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine used, among other systems, CATA-type launchers from Estonian manufacturer Threod Systems to fire long-range strike drones, according to Ranno Pajuri, Chief Commercial Officer of Threod Systems.
