Two powerful explosions shook the Desantnaya Bay area near Vladivostok in Russia’s Primorsky region, targeting a site used for Russian Pacific Fleet drills. It was reported by the Moscow Times on May 30.
According to a statement from Russia’s National Antiterrorism Committee (NAC), the blasts occurred at approximately 04:15 local time and were caused by the ignition of propane-butane cylinders inside a vehicle. The agency stressed there were no casualties or significant damage, noting that law enforcement and emergency services “neutralized the threat swiftly.”

The operation was reportedly conducted by HUR , according to The Kyiv Independent. “Manpower, military equipment, and special assets were hit,” marking what would be Ukraine’s most distant strike into Russian territory, some 6,800 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
Militarnyi, citing operational services, reported that early-morning explosions disrupted the deployment zone used for amphibious drills, noting that the 155th Marine Brigade had conducted exercises there just weeks earlier. The same dispatch described an immediate security response: roads were closed, and vehicles were searched as authorities investigated the incident.

Desantnaya Bay—approximately 12 km east of Vladivostok—is a restricted naval area where Russia’s Pacific Fleet regularly holds amphibious landing exercises. Local media outlets shared video footage of military trucks covered in tarps departing the scene under escort, and witnesses reported a heightened presence of security personnel and emergency crews at the bay’s entrance.
Previously, it was reported that unidentified drones struck a Shahed drone production facility in Yelabuga, Tatarstan, and a chemical plant in Ivanovo Oblast. The attack, which triggered multiple explosions despite Russian air defenses, briefly shut down Nizhnekamsk airport and marked one of Ukraine’s deepest strikes into Russian territory.
