Extradited Ukrainian National Charged with Russian-Led Cyberattacks Targeting US Systems

The US Justice Department announced additional federal charges against Ukrainian national Victoria Eduardovna Dubranova, 33, for her involvement in cyberattacks targeting critical US infrastructure in support of Russian interests, Reuters reported on December 9.
Dubranova, who was extradited to the US earlier this year, faces charges related to her alleged support of the hacking group NoName057(16), which has been linked to numerous global cyberattacks.

She is accused of conspiring to damage protected computers and is set to stand trial in February 2026 for her involvement with NoName057(16) and in April 2026 for charges tied to another group, CyberArmyofRussia_Reborn (CARR). Dubranova has pleaded not guilty in both cases, according to Reuters.

The Justice Department has stated that Russia financially supported both NoName and CARR. The cyberattacks, which targeted critical services like food and water systems, posed significant national security risks. NoName has claimed responsibility for hundreds of attacks globally.
“Today’s actions demonstrate the Department’s commitment to disrupting malicious Russian cyber activity – whether conducted directly by state actors or their criminal proxies,” John Eisenberg, assistant attorney general in charge of the Justice Department’s national security division, said, Reuters reported.
The US State Department is offering rewards of up to $2 million for information on individuals linked to CARR and up to $10 million for those associated with NoName.
Previously, it was reported that the law enforcement from over a dozen European countries, along with Canada and the United States, have taken down the infrastructure of NoName057(16), a pro-Russian hacker group responsible for cyberattacks against Ukraine, the EU, and NATO states.
Europol announced the joint operation, confirming that authorities dismantled more than 100 computer systems linked to the group across the globe.
