Finland Has Backed Ukraine’s Energy Sector With 66 Humanitarian Shipments Since 2022

Finland has sent 66 humanitarian aid shipments to Ukraine’s energy sector through the Energy Support Fund since March 2022, the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy reported on May 29.
According to the Ministry, Finland has supported Ukraine’s energy infrastructure from the outset of Russia’s full-scale invasion. The total volume of aid exceeds 619 tonnes and includes critical equipment such as power transformers, mobile gas boilers, generators, electric motors, and essential spare parts.
Deputy Energy Ministers Oleksandr Pavlichenko and Roman Andarak met with Finnish business representatives to discuss further cooperation, particularly in distributed generation and energy efficiency.

“This assistance is crucial for sustaining Ukraine’s energy system under the unprecedented pressure of enemy attacks. We thank Finland and the Finnish people for their partnership and support,” Pavlichenko stated.
The Ministry noted that Ukrainian energy companies hold strong potential for future collaboration with Finnish partners in key areas of energy resilience.
Earlier, Finnish President Alexander Stubb said Finland would likely not have joined NATO if Russia had not invaded Ukraine, calling leader Vladimir Putin’s decision one of the greatest strategic and tactical miscalculations in modern military history.
