Foreign Minister Sybiha Highlights Ukraine’s Peace Efforts at Major Security Forum in India

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has completed an official visit to India, focused on building stronger diplomatic and economic ties with the Indo-Pacific and Global South. From March 17 to 19, he took part in several international events and bilateral meetings aimed at broadening Ukraine’s partnerships.
Sybiha participated in the Raisina Dialogue 2025 in New Delhi, Asia’s largest security and diplomacy forum. On the sidelines, he met with the foreign ministers of Bhutan, Ghana, India, Moldova, Nepal, Norway, Sweden, Thailand, the Philippines, and Hungary. He also held talks with the UK Prime Minister’s National Security Adviser and the President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, who is also the deputy speaker of Portugal’s parliament.
“Following recent negotiations in Jeddah and other diplomatic efforts, it was important to communicate Ukraine’s position not just to Europe and North America, but to the wider international community, particularly the Indo-Pacific region,” Sybiha said.

In Mumbai, India’s financial hub, Sybiha took part in a business forum with over 130 Indian companies. Together with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, he inaugurated Ukraine’s new Consulate General in Mumbai, which will support Ukrainian citizens and help strengthen business ties.
The minister also presented official credentials to Ukraine’s new honorary consul in Sri Lanka and met with representatives of large Indian businesses interested in developing cooperation with Ukraine.
In addition, Sybiha met with Indian media and policy experts to discuss Ukraine’s vision for peace and its efforts to secure a lasting settlement.
“Ukraine’s position was heard and well received in India,” he said. “This visit is an important step in further developing relations with India, the Indo-Pacific region, and the Global South.”
Previously, Sybiha, in an exclusive interview with ThePrint on March 19, discussed the importance of India’s “influence” with Russia in ensuring a lasting and just peace in the ongoing war.
