France will soon deliver additional support to Ukraine, including power generators, military aircraft, missiles for air defense systems, and aerial bombs, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on January 28 following a phone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron.

“Of course, we discussed how to strengthen our energy resilience,” Zelenskyy said. “In the near future, Ukraine will receive generators from France. This year, additional deliveries of French aircraft, air defense missiles, and aerial bombs are also expected.”

According to Zelenskyy, he also updated Macron on the current situation along the frontlines and Russia’s military losses. He thanked his French counterpart for expressing condolences over recent Russian attacks on civilians, including the deadly strike on a passenger train in the Kharkiv region.

Macron and Zelenskyy also addressed ongoing diplomatic efforts, including recent meetings in Abu Dhabi and the prospect of new negotiations.

“We talked about combating Russia’s shadow fleet,” Zelenskyy added. “Emmanuel spoke about relevant legislative efforts. We are counting on important decisions.”

President Macron echoed these sentiments in a post on X, confirming France’s continued commitment to supporting Ukraine’s energy sector.

“Following the G7+ meeting, co-chaired by France, generators will be sent to help the population get through the winter,” he stated. “France’s position is clear: we will support Ukraine for as long as necessary so it can defend itself and resist Russia’s aggressive war.”

Macron strongly condemned the Russian strikes on civilians and critical infrastructure, describing the recent attack on the Kharkiv passenger train as “unacceptable.”

He also emphasized Ukraine can rely on France as part of the Coalition of the Willing. “We continue working to create conditions for a just and lasting peace that guarantees the security of Ukraine and Europe,” Macron said. “We discussed the progress of negotiations that began last week in Abu Dhabi. We agreed that Europeans must be fully involved in talks that directly concern them.”

Earlier, it was reported that Germany is set to deliver 33 mobile combined heat and power plants to Ukraine in the near future, a move expected to provide electricity and heating for millions of civilians.
