“Since our last meeting, we have significantly strengthened Ukraine's air defense, particularly through the delivery of two Patriot systems promised in August, made possible thanks to our Norwegian partners, as well as the delivery of the ninth Iris-T system,” Pistorius stated.

He also noted that next year, Germany would provide Ukraine with a “significant number” of AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles from German stockpiles to further enhance Ukraine's air defense capabilities.

In addition, Pistorius revealed that Berlin has allocated an additional $200 million to Kyiv for the purchase of critical weapons and ammunition from US stockpiles through NATO's PURL mechanism.

Earlier, UK Defense Minister John Healey announced a $755 million investment to strengthen Ukraine's air defense, the largest single-year commitment, during the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting.

Healey stressed the ongoing severity of Putin’s attacks, noting that “in the last two months alone, there have been 20,000 drone and missile attacks. Therefore, we must intensify our efforts to put pressure on Putin.”
