Germany Will Provide Ukraine With an Additional Patriot Air Defense System

Germany will provide Ukraine with an additional Patriot air defense system and 500 million euros in aid, according to the German Foreign Ministry.

“Strengthening Ukraine's air defence remains crucial. Germany is contributing another Patriot system and an additional €500 million. Together, we must maintain our steadfast support and commitment,” says the statement.

Earlier today it’s been reported that Germany has officially authorized Ukraine to use German-supplied weapons against bordering Russian territory near Kharkiv.

In an interview with ABC News foreign correspondent James Longman on May 16, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that 2 Patriot systems are needed to protect Kharkiv.
