A ground robotic system (GRS) successfully evacuated a Ukrainian soldier who was ambushed and injured by Russian fire.
This was reported by the Joint Assault Brigade of the National Police of Ukraine “Lut.”

The Ukrainian soldier, serving in the “Luhansk” assault brigade of the “Lut” Brigade, was caught in a Russian ambush. Russian forces launched heavy fire, resulting in the soldier sustaining severe injuries.
Nevertheless, the soldier continued to retreat, returning fire at the enemy. He was eventually rescued by his comrades from the 100th Brigade.
“The evacuation of the wounded was extremely challenging: enemy drones circled overhead, and any movement under fire could have been deadly. However, leaving a comrade behind was not an option,” the “Lut” Brigade stated.
The leadership of the Tavr Battalion and Luhansk Brigade opted to use a ground robotic complex for the soldier's evacuation. The robot entered the danger zone and, after several hours, began the evacuation under intense fire.
Earlier, 26-year-old Andrii Krul suffered severe injuries on the front lines in the summer of 2025. Due to the risks associated with evacuating him by vehicle, his fellow soldiers opted to use GRS to safely extract him from the battlefield.
Andrii was left partially blind, lost an arm, and sustained significant leg trauma after a Russian drone strike. With Russian drones hovering overhead, transporting him by car posed a threat to both the evacuation team and the injured soldier. Instead, his comrades decided to deploy a ground robotic system, typically used for delivering supplies or evacuating casualties.
