Head of Olenivka Prison Killed in Car Explosion in Donetsk
On the morning of December 9, an SUV exploded in temporarily occupied Donetsk, reportedly killing the head of the Olenivka prison, Sergey Yevsyukov. The Olenivka facility was the site of a terrorist attack by Russian forces in July 2022, which killed 53 Ukrainian prisoners of war.
This was confirmed by Russian Telegram channels.
Preliminary reports suggest that the explosive device was planted under the SUV's seat and had a charge equivalent to 100–200 grams of TNT .
As a result of the explosion, two people sustained serious injuries.
Later, it was confirmed that Sergey Yevsyukov died in the hospital. His wife was also injured in the explosion, losing a leg.
The Olenivka colony in Russian-occupied Donetsk region was the site of a deadly explosion on July 29, 2022, which killed at least 53 and injured approximately 150 Ukrainian POWs, most of them defenders of Mariupol. Russia has refused to allow international investigators or human rights organizations to examine the site and has not disclosed the exact number or identities of those killed.

y Yevsyukov and his deputy, Neylov, for their role in crimes against Ukrainian prisoners.
