Iran FM Says Russia’s Military Cooperation “Will Continue” Amid US-Israel Operation

Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, signaled Russia could continue providing military support to Iran amid a US-Israel operation, according to RBC-Ukraine on March 5.
The Foreign Minister addressed questions about backing from Russia and China in an interview with NBC News, the report outlined. He described their support as political and “in other ways.”

Araghchi also characterized military ties with Moscow as ongoing.
“Military cooperation between Iran and Russia is not a secret. We worked with each other in the past, it continues and, I think, will continue,” Araghchi said.
Pressed on whether Russia is helping Iran during the war, Araghchi avoided specifics. “They have always helped us.”
“I am not going to disclose details of our cooperation with other countries right in the midst of war,” he said.

Earlier, it was reported that Iranian Shahed-series drones were used in strikes on a US naval base in Bahrain and on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah, widening the drone threat beyond Ukraine.
The attacks hit military-linked sites and civilian areas, with air defenses intercepting much of the barrage, but debris and impacts still caused damage and injuries.
The strikes underscored how the same loitering munitions Russia has used extensively in Ukraine are now appearing in Gulf escalation scenarios against US assets and regional infrastructure.
