Israel will provide Ukraine with an additional humanitarian aid package that includes advanced water supply systems for hundreds of thousands of civilians in areas where infrastructure has been devastated by Russian strikes, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar announced on July 4.

Each system will be capable of supplying clean drinking water to tens of thousands of people and will be deployed in eastern regions of Ukraine where water shortages have become critical due to ongoing Russian attacks.

“This assistance will be delivered through MASHAV, Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation,” Sa’ar confirmed. “It reflects our continued commitment to support Ukraine in this time of crisis.”

The new aid initiative will be funded directly from Israel’s Foreign Ministry budget and builds on nearly two and a half years of Israeli humanitarian support for Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion began in February 2022.

Israel’s Ambassador to Ukraine, Michael Brodsky, emphasized that the country has already provided significant aid, including “air and land bridges” delivering food, medicine, and essential supplies.

In the early months of the war, Israel also deployed a field hospital and, in the first quarter of 2025, distributed hundreds of power generators to Ukrainian regions hit hard by Russian shelling.

Earlier, a Ukrainian family that had traveled to Israel in search of life-saving cancer treatment for their seven-year-old daughter was killed when an Iranian ballistic missile struck their apartment building near Tel Aviv.
