Kremlin Prepares US Contacts to Learn Results of Ukraine-Europe Peace Talks

The Kremlin confirmed on Thursday that it is preparing to establish contacts with the United States to obtain details about recent US discussions with European and Ukrainian officials regarding a potential peace settlement for the war in Ukraine, as reported by Interfax on December 18.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was quoted as saying, “We are, indeed, preparing certain contacts with our American counterparts in order to obtain information about the results of the work carried out by the Americans with the Europeans and the Ukrainians.”

US and Russian officials could meet in Miami in the coming days, with US President Donald Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner expected on the US side and Kirill Dmitriev, an envoy of the Russian leader Vladimir Putin and head of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, expected to be part of the Russian delegation.
