Kyiv Defense Tech Week Puts Ukraine at the Center of Next-Generation Warfare Innovation
Kyiv is set to host the inaugural Kyiv Defense Tech Week from April 27 to May 3, 2026, bringing together international investors, startups, engineers, military leaders, and policymakers focused on the future of defense technology, organizers stated to UNITED24 Media on April 24.
The event comes as Ukraine continues to emerge as a key center for next-generation military innovation, shaped by real-world combat conditions. Organizers say the country is no longer just a testing ground for new systems, but a source of new approaches to defense development and rapid deployment.

Kyiv Defense Tech Week is being organized by Invest in Bravery and the European Defense Tech Hub, in partnership with a network of industry and ecosystem stakeholders.
The initiative aims to connect Ukraine’s battlefield-driven expertise with international funding, industrial capacity, and strategic decision-making.
The week-long program will include conferences, investor meetings, hackathons, pitch sessions, live demonstrations, and closed-door discussions.
A strong focus will be placed on shortening the path from concept to deployment by linking developers with those capable of scaling and implementing new technologies.
“Ukraine is a center for innovative defense, where technologies are tested in real-world conditions and shape how peace is secured. Powered by exceptional talent, hard-won frontline insight, and world-class engineering, Ukraine is redefining how innovation moves from urgency to impact, and from battlefield necessity to global security solutions. This is the goal of the Kyiv Defense Tech Week—to accelerate the ideas shaping the future of security,” said Akim Karpach, Special Projects at the European Defense Tech Hub.
By bringing together key players across the defense ecosystem—from startups and engineers to government officials and military operators—the event is expected to drive investment, strengthen industrial partnerships, and accelerate the deployment of new technologies.
Organizers say the initiative is designed not only to support Ukraine’s defense capabilities but also to contribute to broader European and global security by scaling innovations developed under the pressures of modern warfare.
Earlier, reports emerged that Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense enlisted ethical hackers and artificial intelligence tools to test the cybersecurity resilience of its digital weapons marketplace.
