On June 16, Kyiv hosted its first Equality March since the onset of the full-scale war, drawing approximately 500 participants and marking a significant moment for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies.

Despite the rain, Kyiv Pride participants gathered near the “Teatralna” metro station and walked along Yevhen Chykalenko Street, with a strong police presence ensuring their safety. The march included activists, military personnel, veterans, diplomats, and international observers.

The participation of local activists, military personnel, and representatives from diplomatic missions and international organizations underscored global support for LGBTQ+ rights in Ukraine.

As the participants dispersed, the message remained clear: the fight for equality continues, and the community remains united in the face of Russian aggression.
