Netherlands to Provide $815 Million More in Military Support to Ukraine Next Year

The Netherlands has announced an extra $815 million in support for Ukraine, earmarked for military assistance in 2026.

This was reported by The Guardian on December 8.

“The Netherlands will earmark another 700m euros ($815m) to provide Ukraine with military support in the first quarter of 2026,” the publication stated.

The report notes that the Dutch government had earlier committed around $4 billion for the coming year, though a substantial share of that funding has already been used in 2025.

Following the NATO ministers’ meeting on December 3, Dutch Foreign Minister David van Weel announced that the Netherlands will provide roughly $38 million in assistance. The funding is intended for purchasing medical supplies, equipment, and other essential support to help Ukrainian troops during the winter.

“Today, the Netherlands announced an allocation of €35 million (about $38 million) through UCAP (Ukraine Comprehensive Assistance Package) - funding medical supplies, equipment and other practical support to help Ukrainian forces get through the winter,” he wrote.

Earlier, the Dutch Defense Ministry finalized a significant contract to acquire 100 drone-detection radars that have already proven effective on the battlefield in Ukraine. The purchase is part of an accelerated push to strengthen security at airbases and safeguard critical infrastructure as drone-related incidents continue to rise across the country.
