The funds are designated to cover the costs of purchasing essential medical supplies, equipment, and other practical support for Ukrainian soldiers during the winter months.

“Today, the Netherlands announced an allocation of €35 million (about $38 million) through UCAP (Ukraine Comprehensive Assistance Package) - funding medical supplies, equipment and other practical support to help Ukrainian forces get through the winter,” he wrote.

He also highlighted that during a working lunch with the NATO-Ukraine Council, the importance of keeping Ukraine strong was stressed, particularly as peace initiatives advance.

“Ukraine and Europe must have a full voice in that process,” he emphasized.

At the same time, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced that Australia and New Zealand have joined the PURL initiative, contributing weapons and equipment to Ukraine.

Rutte emphasized the improvement in "burden sharing," noting that the participation of these two countries—neither of which are NATO members but are key partners in the Indo-Pacific region—further strengthens the alliance’s efforts.

Earlier, Italy indicated a change in its stance on military aid to Ukraine, stating that it now views involvement in NATO's new US-led weapons procurement initiative for Kyiv as "premature" while discussions about a possible ceasefire are still ongoing.
