A fire broke out near the Sarepta railway station in Volgograd in the early hours of March 15, following reports of a drone attack in the area.

Footage geolocated by the Russian Telegram channel Astra shows flames near a Gazprom gas station, several kilometers from a local oil refinery.

Local residents reported hearing multiple explosions across different parts of Volgograd, with some sources indicating that drones targeted the city’s infrastructure. Russian Telegram channels suggested that the likely target of the attack was the Lukoil oil refinery, located approximately two kilometers from the fire’s location.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 64 drones were intercepted over Volgograd Oblast overnight. However, no official statements have been issued regarding the reported attack on the refinery.

The extent of the damage remains unclear, and independent verification of the reports is not currently available. Authorities have not confirmed whether the fire near the railway station is directly linked to the drone activity.

Earlier, a drone strike targeted the Tuapse oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region, igniting a large fire in a fuel storage tank, according to Russian media outlet Astra. The attack, which occurred around 2:00 am on March 14, was followed by multiple explosions before air raid sirens were activated. Officials reported that the fire spread to over 1,000 square meters, requiring extensive firefighting efforts.
