Drone strikes targeted industrial sites in Russia overnight, including the Kirishinefteorgsintez (KINEF) oil refinery in the Leningrad region and a military supply facility in Bryansk.

According to the governor of the Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko, the refinery in Kirishi was attacked by drones. He stated that Russian air defense systems intercepted one drone before it reached the facility, while another was reportedly destroyed over the site, with falling debris causing damage to a storage tank. These claims cannot be independently verified.

KINEF, operated by Surgutneftegaz, is one of Russia’s largest oil processing plants. It has an annual refining capacity of approximately 20.1 million tons of crude oil and produces various petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel, fuel oil, and aviation fuel. The refinery is located about 790 kilometers from Ukraine’s border.

The facility was previously targeted by drones in March 2024. In January 2025, drone attacks were also reported in the Leningrad region, specifically at the Ust-Luga seaport, a key hub for Russian crude oil and commodity exports.

In a separate incident, drones struck the “Konservsushprod” factory in Starodub, Bryansk region, which produces ration packs for the Russian military. Local reports indicated that multiple explosions were heard, followed by a fire on the premises. The governor of Bryansk, Alexander Bogomaz, confirmed the attack, stating that air defense systems were engaged in intercepting aerial threats.

Satellite imagery suggests the factory is located approximately 30 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

This is not the first reported strike on this facility. In May 2023, an unidentified drone dropped an explosive device on the factory’s roof. The region has also seen previous drone activity, including a reported strike in November 2024 on a military installation in Bryansk, linked to Russia’s 120th Main Missile and Artillery Directorate.
