More than 80% of Ukrainians would support joining the European Union and NATO if referendums were held in the near future, according to a recent survey conducted by the Razumkov Center.

The survey was carried out from September 20 to 26, 2024. It found that 81% of respondents are willing to participate in a referendum on EU membership. Among those intending to vote, 88% would support joining the EU, while 8% would oppose it.

In a referendum on NATO membership, 82% of participants would take part, with 86% in favor and 10% against.

Support for EU membership is particularly strong in Western Ukraine, where 96% of respondents intend to vote in favor (3% against). This is followed by 90% in Central Ukraine (5.5% against), 81% in Eastern Ukraine (13% against), and 69% in Southern Ukraine (20% against).

The survey also highlights a notable increase in support for both EU and NATO membership. In November-December 2021, 78% of respondents were in favor of EU membership, with 18% opposing it. For NATO membership, 70% supported joining, while 24.5% were against.

During the presentation of Victory Plan, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine's invitation to NATO would serve as a "proof of determination" and signal how NATO partners envision Ukraine’s role in the future "security architecture."
