On July 17, 2025, Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned a representative from the Russian Embassy following a Russian attack on the Barlinek Group factory in Vinnytsia, Ukraine, which is owned by Poland.

In a statement in a post on X, the Polish Ministry emphasized that the attack on the factory, which is dedicated solely to civilian production, constitutes a violation of international law.

Previously it was reported that Russian drones launched a targeted strike on the Barlinek Group factory in Vinnytsia, Ukraine, on July 15. The factory director confirmed that the attack was deliberate and came from three different directions.

The Polish Consulate was also involved in addressing the situation, reports Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski.

Earlier, on the night of July 16, Russian forces launched an assault on Ukraine with a ballistic Iskander-M missile and 400 drones, including 255 Shahed drones. Among the targets of the attack were Kryvyi Rih, Kharkiv, and Vinnytsia.

The attack was repelled by a multi-layered response involving Ukrainian aviation, air defense missile units, drone operators, electronic warfare (EW) teams, and mobile fire groups. Of the 400 drones, 198 were confirmed shot down, while 145 drone decoys were neutralized or lost due to EW interference, according to Ukraine’s Air Force.
