Russian drones launched a targeted strike on the Barlinek Group factory in Vinnytsia, Ukraine, on July 15. The factory director confirmed that the attack was deliberate and came from three different directions.

The strike resulted in several injuries, including two workers who were severely burned in the assault.

Ukrainian emergency services responded promptly to the attack, and efforts are underway to assess the damage and provide medical assistance to those affected. The Polish Consulate is also involved in addressing the situation and assisting the injured workers, reports Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski

Barlinek produces parquet boards, certified sports flooring, skirting boards, and biofuels for fireplaces. The company is now one of the top three wooden flooring manufacturers in Europe, with production facilities in Poland, Romania, and Ukraine.

Barlinek registered its company in Vinnytsia on January 13, 2006, and in the fall of 2007, the first subsidiary was launched at the Vinnytsia plant. As of 2022, the plant employed 1,295 people, with some production areas operating on a continuous basis.

The plant in Vinnytsia produces the company’s core products, including parquet boards, wooden skirting boards, and water-resistant hybrid floors. Barlinek’s manufacturing facility in Ukraine is fully equipped with the necessary documents and certifications to operate within the country.

Earlier, it was reported that Russia had launched a massive aerial assault on Ukraine overnight using 400 drones of various types and a single Iskander-M ballistic missile, hitting Kryvyi Rih, Kharkiv, and Vinnytsia.

According to Ukraine’s Air Force, 343 drones were either shot down or suppressed, but others struck key locations in Kryvyi Rih, Kharkiv, and Vinnytsia, injuring at least 15 people, including a 17-year-old boy.
