Russian leader Vladimir Putin has appointed a minimum of 24 relatives to governmental roles or positions within state-controlled companies. This number is suggested by the outlet to be a likely record for Russian leaders over the past century, investigative outlet Proekt reported on November 6.

The individuals identified as beneficiaries form an extended network encompassing Putin’s two known daughters, the families of four women connected to him, and several cousins, specifically Yevgeny Putin, Igor Putin, Lyubov Kruglova, and Lyubov Shelomova.

Specific high-profile roles include Anna Tsivilyova (daughter of Yevgeny Putin) serving as Deputy Defense Minister, her husband Sergei Tsivilyov holding the position of Energy Minister, and her brother Mikhail Putin functioning as Deputy CEO of Gazprom. Additionally, Viktor Khmarin (son of Lyubov Kruglova) currently occupies the top executive role at the major electricity company, RusHydro, Proekt reported.

Proekt’s investigation also shows the recent promotion of a third generation of the Russian leader’s relatives into senior corporate roles affiliated with the state.

According to The Moscow Times, these conclusions are drawn from the new book, The Tsar Himself: How Vladimir Putin Deceived Us All, authored by Proekt’s senior editors, Roman Badanin and Mikhail Rubin, which examines the leader's long-term personal associations and the resulting sphere of influence.

Earlier, it was reported that Russia routinely publishes video footage of meetings featuring Russian leader Vladimir Putin, presenting these recordings as if they represent current events, despite being taped at an earlier time.
