Russia Boasts Strikes on Military Sites in Ukraine While Actually Killing at Least 16 Civilians and Injuring 130

Russia’s Defense Ministry has claimed it carried out a coordinated strike on Ukrainian military infrastructure on June 17.
“Last night, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation conducted a coordinated strike using precision-guided air-, ground-, and sea-launched weapons, as well as strike drones,” the ministry’s statement published on its official channels said.
According to the ministry, the targets were defense industry facilities located in the Kyiv region and Zaporizhzhia.
“The objective of the strikes was achieved. All designated targets were hit,” the statement read.

Despite the Russian Defense Ministry’s claim, Moscow’s strike overnight on June 17 struck several civilian sites across the country, including Kyiv and Odesa.
In the capital alone, Russia’s massive missile and drone strike killed at least 15 people, including a 62-year-old US citizen identified as Grendy Frederick Glenn, and injured more than 114. Several people are reported missing.
In Odesa, the body of a 60-year-old woman was recovered from under the rubble. A total of 17 people were injured, including a pregnant woman and a 17-year-old girl.
