On the morning of Sunday, September 29, Zaporizhzhia was hit by a series of Russian airstrikes, causing widespread damage and injuries. According to the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, the strikes targeted residential areas, initially injuring at least five people.

The airstrikes caused several fires and inflicted significant damage on both apartment buildings and private homes. Fedorov reported that over ten guided bombs struck the city, with some hitting multi-story residential buildings. Preliminary reports indicated that a woman could be trapped under the rubble.

Later, State Emergency Service confirmed that four people were injured, with one person rescued from beneath the debris. Six private homes were severely damaged, and multiple fires broke out as a result of the strikes. Rescue operations are ongoing, as authorities continue searching for individuals who may be trapped.

Update: As of 9:41 AM, the number of injured rose to seven, including two men and five women. Two of the injured are in critical condition, while the others have received medical treatment. Rescue teams have successfully pulled one woman from under the debris. In total, Russian forces launched 13 guided aerial bombs (KAB), targeting residential and infrastructure sites in various parts of Zaporizhzhia.

The strikes impacted three districts—Shevchenkivskyi, Komunarskyi, and Oleksandrivskyi—damaging residential buildings and infrastructure. Train services were also disrupted. Rescue efforts continue as officials assess the full extent of the destruction.

Update: Already 16 people who suffered from the enemy attack on Zaporizhzhia have sought medical attention. Nine women, five men and two children — a 17-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl — were wounded in the shelling. Two women remain in hospital.
